The University of Virginia climbed Kiplinger's rankings from No. 3 to No. 2.
Two Virginia colleges are being recognized as giving students and parents the biggest bang for their buck.
The ranking, by Kiplinger's Personal Finance, highlights four-year schools that judges determined have excellent education-to-cost ratio.? They considered factors like graduation rate, admission rate, and student-faculty ratio.
The University of Virginia came in as the second-best value in the rankings of public schools ? up one spot from last year. It was bested only by the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.? The College of William and Mary came in fourth.
James Madison University came in at 20th, Virginia Tech was 28th, the University of Mary Washington was 53rd, and George Mason University was 56th.
